Neerod Kumar Jha

Biography

Dr Neerod Jha, is presently working as Cardiac Surgical Specialist in pediatric cardiac surgery with Consultant’s privileges in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi since 02.09.2007. He graduated in Medicine MBBS in 1987. Following surgical training program, he obtained master’s in general surgery in 1990. Later, through super specialty training in Cardiothoracic Surgery, he was awarded Master’s M.Ch. from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. In addition, he is a Diplomat of National Board, India in cardiac surgery. Subsequently, joined further specialty training program in cardiac surgery with Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia and completed Fellowship training under Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Moreover, did fellowship in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery in Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore in 2003. In 2015, he was awarded Fellowship of American College of Surgeons. He worked as Assistant Professor in PGIMER, Chandigarh, India in Cardiac Surgery. Prior to joining SKMC, he worked as Assistant and later Associate Consultant in King Fahad National Guard Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With over 29 years of experience as a cardiac surgeon, Dr Jha has been performing cardiac surgery on wide range of patients including complex pediatric patients. In addition, he has strong research background having more than 45 research publications in the journals of repute. Moreover, he is a peer reviewer for most of the prestigious journals. He has teaching experience in his specialty. His innovative pathways for sternal wound management in pediatric cardiac surgical patients was awarded “Best Innovation and Research” silver-award for year 2023 by the Journal of Wound Care Award Committee (JWC award), UK. In addition, Dr. Jha has completed International Interprofessional Wound Care Course from Uni of Toronto.
