Biography

Dr. Muhammad Badar uz Zaman, MBBS, FRCS, MCh, FEBS-Transplant, MSC-HCM, a senior consultant transplant, hepatobiliary, and general surgeon, has been at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City since 2008, where he also leads the Division of Transplant & Hepatobiliary Surgery. With over 30 years of clinical experience, including 18 years as a consultant, he trained in Ireland and the UK after earning his medical degree in Pakistan. Previously, he worked at King’s College Hospital, London, and St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin. Dr. Zaman was pivotal in establishing SKMC’s transplant program, which has performed over 650 kidney transplants for adults and children. He also specializes in hepatobiliary surgeries for benign and oncologic liver and pancreatic conditions. His interests include healthcare management, quality improvement, and medical education, and he serves as an examiner for the Emirati Board of General Surgery.
